Installing XML Blogger Templates

I was looking for cute powerpoint templates yesterday but instead, I found these really cutesy downloadable blogger templates/themes. But since I'm new to blogging, I didn't know how to install them on my blog. So I acquired the services of the ever reliable Mr. Google.

It's something new for me so I excitedly installed those templates. They looked fine and cute but I have to redo everything to fit my articles into my new template - lay-outing, font settings, width adjustments, image sizing etc., etc, etc. So I gave up. I just don't have the time. And my main problem was that using the new templates, the widths cannot be adjusted. The templates too narrow and my columns overlapping. My uploaded pictures too large for the new template. *sigh

So what I did, to appease the disappointed me, I just downloaded a blog background to give my blog sort of a new look.

Anyways, for new bloggers, if you want to change your blog's template and  give it a new look, here's what you have to do:

  • Download the template you want to use. It should be an .xml file. There are lots of downloadable blogger templates, just searc using google or any search engine.

  • Go to your blog. Click templates. This can be found on the left side of the screen.

  • Then click  Backup/restore, this can be found on the upper right corner of the screen:

  • A screen will show:

  • Before changing your template, you might want to keep your present template, so you have to click Download Full Template first so you can re-install it  later if you don't like the new template.
  • Then if you're ready to install a new template, click Browse (Pumili ng File in tagalog/filipino, this is one of my problems with google chrome, I don't know how to change the language into english, can anyone help? I alreay did some changes in my chrome settings but it's still in tagalog) and upload the downloaded .xml template.
