Coron: Rudy's Place Lodge Review

We stayed at Rudy's Place Lodge and availed their all-in package worth Ph5,500.00. The package includes:

  1. 4 days/3 nights accomodation - there were four (4) of us so we shared one (1) spacious room which has 2 queen size beds and 1 single bed. The room has a working AC thank God. It's good enough if you're on a tight budget, so aside from the not so nice pillows, it's good enough if you only need a sleeping space. The bathroom. Well the bathroom needs a lot of improvements but it's clean enough. The hotel has a pool which is not really swimmable, it's all dirty. Well who needs a pool when you have all the beautiful beaches. They also provide towels. A TV with cable is working fine.
  2. Meals - the package includes all meals. Breakfast and dinner at the inn which were served in front of our room (sort of a balcony) for four days. But on our third night, we've decided to eat out for a change. So, Ms. Patty, the very nice inn manager gave us dried fish for "pasalubong" in exchange.

  3. Tour - So included in our package was a two day Island Tour Included in our destinations were the following:
    • Day 1- Supposedly a city tour which includes Mt. Tapyas and Maquinit Hot Spring, but we arrived super late so it was moved to the next day
    • Day 2 - Coron loop Island hopping (snorkeling at quine peak reef, hidden lagoon, green lagoon, Kayangan lake, Coral Garden and CYC Island). Meals during the island hopping was prepared by Mang Greggy, our nice boat driver, and his assist. Junjun. We were also provided with a tour guide, PJ, who is very nice and lively and helpful. The tour is what they call "joiners", meaning, our group was joined with another group, a family of 3 and 2 others who are friends. So that makes us 12 in one boat. After the Island hopping, we went to Mt. Tapyas just in time for the sunset and then headed to Maquinit Spring to sooth the aches from the very long day that we had.

    • Day 3 -  On day three (3), we were supposed to do Malcapuya Island Tour (Bulog Dos and Banana Island). But PJ, our reliable tour guide adviced us that Malcapuya will be a very long boat ride (like 2 hours), and suggested that we better do more Coron loop Island hopping cause there's still so much to see. So, we talked to Ms. Patty if we can change our itinerary and thank God she agreed. Also, instead of sharing one boat with other tourists, we had a private tour. We had the boat to ourselves, with only PJ our tour guide, Mang Greggy out boat driver and Junjun. Good deal! So instead of Malcapuya tour, we went to see the shipwreck and did some fish feeding. And then went to Banol Beach for lunch. Then Twin Lagoon and then Barracuda Lake. It was day filled with fun!
    • Day 4 - Our flight back to Manila was at 1:20 PM, so we had a chance to buy some "pasalbubong". The airport transport to and from coron was also included in the Package.
