I've always wanted to go to Japan to see cherry blossoms during spring. Like everybody else, I've always been amazed with those pretty flowers. Too bad they can't grow here in the Philippines. Went to South Korea (Seoul and Daegu) for a brief autumn vacation last year and I hope that sometime next year, I will be able to have my Japan spring vacation.
The Philippines may not have the lovely four seasons, but we have the loveliest summer. So many beautiful beaches to swim and great mountains to hike. We never ran out of things to do and beautiful places to go. And we may not have cherry blossoms but we have so many flowering trees during summer too.
Last sunday I joined a fun run at the Quirino Grandstand. It's just located a few meters from the Rizal Park (aka Luneta). And I've never seen Luneta as beautiful as that day, with those fire trees in bloom. I just the love gorgeous display of trees in orange flamelike flowers lining the sidewalk. I wasn't able to take good pictures but here's one from my old iPhone, wasnt able to bring a better camera or a camera phone:) I wanna go back and take a lot of better pictures.

Fire trees (Delonix regia)usually bloom from late May to June. I also noticed that when these trees start to bloom, summer is nearing to an end and the rainy season is coming. This trees can also be found in other tropical countries.
Fire trees also abound at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center and at UPLB (I think). Well, you can find this tree all over the country, but if you're in Metro Manila, please find time to visit the said places, before the rain comes and the flowers fall.
Other beautiful flowering trees I've seen here in the Philippines during summer include narra tree and golden shower tree and acacia tree among others.
Narra, also known as the Pilippine National tree, this golden beauty can be seen all over the Philippines. It blooms Early April till late May, more of this tree should be planted in Metro Manila. Imagine the highways line with these during summer. It's just beautiful.

Everybody knows about this one, the acacia tree its so common its often neglected. Its pink flowers are just beautiful too.
